Day 21: Clarity

Day 21 of "21 Days of Distinction"

The shot above was taken today, 12/31/10 at 5:45am. I got up, got dressed, got my gear, and headed out into the dark, foggy, morning. I had an intention and a purpose; as I have a vision and a voice.

So as I conclude these 21 days, I begin.

Starting in 2011, future entries within this blog will contain a blend of distinctions, revelations, and rants... in no particular order or priority.

You see, it’s no longer foggy inside.

I have clarity and I have the audacity…

"Success" requires a willingness to go the extra miles.

I’m miles in and intend on continuing.

I hope you join me and I hope you enjoy me.

Either way, I’m moving on ("from town to town").

I will continue to use the vehicle of photography, the science of psychology, and the art of rock & roll as themes to communicate and illustrate my ideas, insights, and information.

My work here consists of putting:

1) Words to the pictures, 2) music to the messages, and then 3) speaking it to the masses.

Photography affords me opportunities to discover distinctions.

Photography helps me to not forget. Photography reminds me of the many details I may miss in the moment.

When I’m shooting, there’s always an element of unpredictability present that's exhilarating.

I never know exactly where I’ll end up or what I’ll see.

That's the perfect imperfection for me.

The serendipity inherent within photography is intoxicating.

Psychology helps me to sort it all out and understand the whys and why nots.

Music gives it all emotion and an edge.

So as I end these “21 Days of Distinction” I leave you with these final thoughts on the eve of a brand new year:

Pay attention to your attention.

Open up your eyes and ears and become (more) aware.

Notice opportunities. Notice obstacles.

Resolve to evolve.

“See things” for what they are, what they aren’t, and what they could be.

Pursue truth.

Go the extra mile… do what few others will do… be an exception... be exceptional!
