Altered states. That’s what some people live in… altered states of reality. Their perception of their world, how they think they are being perceived by others, and their self-perceived contribution to this world, is altered. By that I mean: skewed, distorted, disjointed, disconnected, exaggerated, erroneous… i.e. not fucking based in reality whatsoever.

What’s more amazing is the passion these know-it-all’s have trying to convince others to buy into their twisted altered states of existence even in the face of solid evidence to the contrary. I shouldn’t be shocked. Tools of this type are more the norm than not in many cases, in many places. Avoid them if you can. Kick them to fucking curb if you can’t. Stat.

Know-It-All’s

know it all2

A healthy rant is required for me to keep my sanity to tolerate the incessant amount of fucking know-it-all assholes I seem to encounter semi-regularly.

No, I’m definitely NOT one of these arrogant, puffed-up, chest-beating, blow-hards.

Why?

Because, I CAN be wrong. I CAN make mistakes. I CAN admit that. I CAN take feedback from others. I CAN accept others’ good ideas. I CAN concede that I just don’t know some things, sometimes. And, I CAN remove my head out of my own ass when necessary.

You see, I’m NOT a fucking know-it-all, and I definitely know that.

But, if YOU:

  • … think you’re always right.
  • … think your ideas are always the best ideas.
  • … think you’re always the most qualified, for fucking anything and everything.
  • … think you can always do things better than everyone else.
  • … think you’re always the smartest person in the room.

Then, you’re definitely NOT any of these things simply because you believe you are.

Your unawareness of the negative, long-term affects of your own self-aggrandization disqualifies you from even being close to the know-it-all-ness you proclaim and covet.

Sometimes, the greatest demonstration of knowledge is the admission of its absence.

So, to all of you arrogant, self-absorbed, self-indulgent, insensitive, socially-inept assholes who chronically suffer from diarrhea of the mouth >> congratulations, because you’re also always shoe-in’s for the shitty-listener-of-the-year award.

But alas, none of you are actually reading this right now because you already knew all of this shit anyway…
