In addition to writing and speaking professionally, I’ve been working as a professional photographer for several years now. I love the centeredness and serenity that photography has unexpectedly provided me over the years.
But, my photography is evolving. Not because I want it to necessarily, but because it has to, and it should. I get weary of shooting the same kinds of things over and over again. Don’t get me wrong, I love the work I’ve done thus far, but that’s just it… it’s thus far. I want, and need to undertake new challenges. I’m ready for the next chapter of my journey “seeing things” literally and figuratively.
I intend to use my photography skills in new and innovative ways; ways that mean something to me first and foremost, and then hopefully others as well. I plan to pursue ideas, avenues, and projects that aren’t necessarily mainstream or commonplace. No wedding shoots for me (kill me…lol). I’m planning to undertake even more social documentary-style photography that has an investigative-journalistic and human-interest slant to it.
